Hollywood: Music, Movies and Pop Up Shops

This weekend consisted of some personal research (Space 1520's flea market space) and walking around Hollywood. We stopped by Amoeba, saw a movie at the Arclight and passed by Panpipes... which, by the way, I still cannot figure out their business hours. I also FINALLY checked out the 'Where the Wild Things Are' pop up shop at Space 1520, very cool. I took some pictures (excuse the poor phone camera quality, they don't give the displays any justice).



Christian Joy (costume designer for YYY's Karen O) had a costume of Carol, an interpretation/inspiration from the film. (Shown Below)



Also, I noticed a couple of new stores on Hollywood Blvd, including a Betty Page store that had a lot of cool artwork on the wall and sold unique merchadise...and not to mention a spanking machine in the back??! What?!! That was bizarre... but extremely funny. There were some Polaroids of the (happy?) customers posted on the wall for all to see. Never a dull day in L.A.

Halloweennnnnnnn is near!

Halloween is coming up and I am super excited to start buying things and put together a costume. They opened up a Spirit halloween shop across from work so I'm looking forward to finding the finishing touches for accessories this year [**shhh** it's a secret]. Since Carlos will be on vAcA that last week, I'm thinking of going to as many events as we can possibly handle... and this is in addition to celebrating our one year anniversary in November.

"My Pretty" Launch in L.A

Tons of fun this weekend at the official launch of the "My Pretty" collection at the Melrose Tarina Tarantino boutique. It's always cool to go to TT events, especially when she makes an appearance ^_^ There was a dj playing, pink champagne, gift with purchase and not to mention an awesome sale!

I ended up buying these cute earrings and got a bracelet as a free gift : )

This time around Tarina recognized me- I go to all her events and keep up w/the blog and twitter (I know, stalker- NOT! not even like that people!). I always look forward to new collections and I swear, the catalogs keep getting better and better- I love the creative geniuses of the sparkle factory!

Anyway, missed out on the gallery opening of Mike Shinoda's Glorious Excess DIES exhibit...I forgot it took place that same evening. The heat was just unbearable and it was hard to stay focused. I heard Emile Hirsch was there (Aghhh!!!!!) I would have freaked the hell out so I guess it's good I wasn't there. I have til October 4th to check it out : )
